Since the founding on July, 18 2014, Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority has clearly distinguished itself as a public service organization that boldly confronts the challenges of the LGBT Community. The sorority has implemented a wide range of programs addressing education, health, international development, and strengthening the Trans community. In realizing its mission, Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority provides an extensive array of public service initiatives through its 5 Coral Thrust Program of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:

● Kappa GEMS - Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully
● ETBODI: Empowering Tran-women to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence
INTERNATIONAL AWARENESS AND INVOLVEMENT:
● Project KYS- KIS Project (Know Your Status) HIV/AIDS Awareness
● Project Safe Home- Putting an End to Domestic Violence within the Trans Community
