Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority is a non-collegiate, community service / social based, non-profit organization open to MTF transgender women from all races and cultures. Our notable organization welcomes ladies with a heart for community improvement, societal awareness and empowerment of the LGBT community; advocating for equality for transgender woman of all religions, races and ages.

HerStory Begins ...

Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority was founded on July 18, 2014, in San Jose, California at the 5th

Biennial Tau Kappa Phi Conclave. The organization was founded by Gem Angelo Moore, Gem

Unique Wilson and Gem De'Staten of Kappa Psi Kappa Fraternity Incorporated. These valiant

constituents were the visionaries behind the establishment of Kappa Iota Sigma Sorority.

Kappa Iota Sigma was created to provide a unified platform for individual transformation and

growth through sisterhood, scholarship, service, leadership, cooperation, culture and patience.

The foundation of the organization solicits the societal awareness of the transgendered woman

and the overall empowerment of the LGBT community.
